Leaving On A Jet Plane

Jay had just gone to China for a week. We've been really lucky and he hasn't been there for a year, but it seems really weird not having him around, I'm not going to be able to phone him for 24 hours! The kids are OK, not sure they really understand. Jay went golfing a couple if days ago and when he got back Josh asked if he'd been to China, he'd only been gone a few hours! I think that may be because Josh is expecting a pressie when his Dad gets back though! Abi is oblivious at the moment, but I know she'll miss him soon.

Josh enjoyed his first few days at school. I had a school dinner with him on Thursday which was yummy, but Josh wasn't impressed. He is so fussy, I am just going to make him sandwiches. He is stopping for lunch this week, then is full time the week after. Abi starts Playgroup tomorrow, I reckon she'll love it as much as Josh did. I imagine I'll be tidying the house up as I haven't had both of them out the house at once for months!!!

We took the kids to Drayton Manor on Friday afternoon. Josh finished at 12 noon, and we were there by 12.45pm so we had a good few hours there. It was empty so we got to go on loads of things! No photo's today though, sorry!

School!

A couple of weeks ago I was posting about how Abi wasn't a baby anymore and today I'm posting about Josh starting Reception Class at school. He is cool, calm and collected about it, he's just excited about seeing all his friends again. I, on the other hand, am an emotional wreck. I've been fine till today, but getting him dressed into his school uniform has just made it all come to the front, I just hope I can keep it together in the playground!

Here are some photo's from when we went to a place called Wonderland at Telford over the weekend. It's a park especially for younger children with an enchanted woods theme, with fairy tale characters and houses for them to discover.

On Sunday, Josh was taken to Warwick Castle by his Dad because he'd been a good boy and reached Number 10 on his Up/Down reward chart (a la Super Nanny!).

Ouch!

Abi ran into Josh's door. He denies any involvement!

No going back

(Abi's new bed, complete with Rosie our cat in the centre!)

As if to prove that Abi is growing up, we had a bed delivered for her at the weekend! It's a small double so 4ft wide, a bit bigger than a single. It takes a single duvet perfectly though and means that one of us can get into be with her easily when she wakes up too early! We would have her in our bed, but that space is already occupied by her brother!!!

(Josh who has just discovered the wonders of Sonic the Hedghog!)

Josh officially starts school on the 12th September and then goes full time on the 25th. Abi also starts playgroup in the village 3 times a week on the 11th so I've got 3 whole mornings to myself! What will I do?! Abi finished nursery yesterday, as I think it'll be too much for her doing that and playgroup!

Josh had to go to see his Speech Therapist this week for another course of lessons, she said he has improved again, but there may be a problem with his sequencing skills. We had a double whammy and saw the pediatrician too for a review, she said he's fine and she doesn't need to see him again! That's excellent news!
