Just being 'us'

I am getting a little lazy and not updating this site enough. Yesterday I had a job interview with an agency - it's only for 2 days a week and is more to get me out the house rather than anything else - I've got to go to the office of the company themselves today, but I'm not sure if I'll take it at the moment. Its a LOT less than the hourly rate I was on in my last job (much less than half) and I'm not sure the hassle is worth it. Basically, I could walk into the type of job I was doing before, but I would have to work full-time, and I'm not sure I'm ready for that just yet!

We went to the garden centre at the weekend and bought a bench that Josh insisted in helping us put up. Now, Josh helping us consists of him getting the instructions and telling us we are doing it wrongly. Remember that Josh is 4 and cannot read instructions, but he is an expert!
Anyway, here is the completed bench - which I add was put up without any arguments between J or I. Saying that, there were a few 'No, Abigail's' said as she was trying to climb up it as we were putting it together!

Update - I got the job! Its even better (for me!) and only two half days a week, perfect!

Here is a great blog for people to read, Hollabacknyc - Holla Back at street Harassers....

Bad Cat!

We have two cats, Rosie who is a pedigree (she looks like the cat that belongs to Blofeld on James Bond!) and Poppy who is a Ginger mad thing! Rosie is useless at being a cat! She has never caught anything (has to have handmedowns from other cats!) and she cannot jump to save her life. At our old house, she used to follow our other cat and get stuck in various areas of the town - we were forever getting calls from people asking if we owned a long-haired white cat, it was embarrassing because usually she was only a couple of streets away.

Poppy is a Ginger female and is completely mad! This morning I was looking out the window and saw her on the neighbour's porch! They have birds nesting under their eves by the looks of things - the positioning of Poppy is a giveaway!!!
We have had a lazy weekend - watched England win yesterday (although not the most amazing performance ever!). We went to the park today and have spent lots of time in the garden, Josh and Abi rip their clothes off at the first opportunity - its a good job they are both under 5!!!!

Jersey part 2!

For some reason, Blogger won't let me add any more pics to the Jersey post, so here are a few I was going to add but couldn't!

Jersey

We had a lovely break in Jersey. The hotel was fine, a bit too 'family' orientated for us, if that makes sense. We have never stopped in that sort of hotel, it had just been renovated so the accommodation was great, but it was a bit noisy in the rooms (as the kids in the room above insisted in jumping off the beds at 10.30pm at night - until I called reception to complain!). Saying that, Josh and Abi were too exhausted to notice! It wasn't Clubbing in Ibiza type noisy though!

Here are some photo's of our rooms, firstly our bedroom:

Then Josh's bed in his room (we had a family suite in an attempt to get the children off to sleep before us):

Abi should have been in a cot, although she ended up in bed with either her Dad or me, and the other one of us ended up on either the top or bottom bunk of the bunk bed, depending on where Josh wanted to sleep! Luckily, there are no photographic evidence of either J or I getting in and out of the top bunk, you have been spared that dear reader!

The weather was great, in fact, maybe the sun was a bit too strong, but our favourite beach Greve De Lecq has a lovely breeze so we weren't too hot! On Sunday it was J's birthday, so we had a few drinks in the evening. He has had two new golf clubs for his birthday (that's about all I know on the subject!) so they obviously didn't come to Jersey with us, he had them when we got back home!

Abi was fantastic on the flights, which is always a relief! We limit our flying to 2 hours max, although J does have enough airmiles for us all to go to the US, we're not ready for a long trip like that yet! On the way back, the plane went via Guernsey (they are only propeller planes from Birmingham to the Channel Islands). We may go there next year, as it looked just as pretty as Jersey.
